Accessibility
- The castle can only be visited with a guided tour. The park is accessible without a tour.
- Cars are not allowed on the castle grounds, you can park at the car park across the entrance. Visitors need an exit token (which can be purchased at the ticket office) in order to leave the car park.
- Bicycles can be parked at the bike racks on the Stalplein.
- For disabled visitors the park is partially accessible, the castle is not accessible (except for the waiting room on the lower ground floor). Wheelchair accessible toilets can be found near the entrance (at the Stalplein) and on the lower ground floor of the castle.
- Both children and adults are welcome to visit the guided tour, but when visiting with small children we advice you to take the special children's tour.
- Pets are not permitted inside the castle (except for aid dogs). Dogs are allowed in the park, but they have to be kept on a lead.
About the tour
- The tour starts inside the castle on the lower ground floor (you will receive a groundplan at the cash register), this is a ten minute walk from the car park.
- The tour lasts approximately 55 minutes.
- The tour is given in Dutch, but an English spoken audiotour is available. On very busy days you will receive a written translation.
- The castle is very large and has more rooms than we can show you. During the tour you will see the most important and beautifull rooms on 3 different levels (lower ground floor, beletage and 1st floor). The fire department does not permit us to go above these levels.
Houserules
- Please bear in mind at all times that De Haar Castle is a historical museum. Visitors are expected to behave appropriately to prevent damage to the collection. Please do not lean against the walls or touch the collection. When you need to sit down during the tour please ask the guide for a non collection chair.
- Coats, bags and umbrella's should be left in the area designated by your guide.
- During the tour visitors cannot leave the group, if you need to exit the tour please ask the guide for assistance.
- Filming and photography are not permitted in the castle.
- Smoking is not permitted in the castle.
- Eating and drinking is not permitted during the tour. It is permitted in the waiting room on the lower ground floor.
- Please switch of your mobile phones during the tour.
- Parents stay responsible for the behaviour of their children at all times.
- Instructions given by De Haar Castle's staff should be observed.
Parkrules
- Please respect nature - deposit your litter in the dustbins provided, do not break or damage any attributes in the park and only walk in the areas permitted (the lawns and the paths provided).
- The plants and flowers are there for you to enjoy - please do not pluck the flowers.
- Filming and photography is permitted in the park for private use only. (Semi-)professional shoots are not permitted, including weddingshoots.
- Given the many ponds and canals, keep a close eye on your children at all times.
- Instructions given by De Haar Castle's staff should be observed.
