Maintenance of our heritage
2025 – 2026
To preserve the unique story of Kasteel de Haar, we continuously work on our heritage: the castle and its buildings, the collection and the gardens. We do this with care, craftsmanship and respect for the past. In the castle, on the grounds, in front of and behind the scenes. This is how we ensure that both our current visitors and future generations can experience the special history of the Van Zuylen van Nijevelt family.
Work on the grounds
In the period November 2025 - August 2026 we will be carrying out major maintenance on paving, painting and the Rose Garden, among other things. On this page we will inform you about the nature and duration of the work and how we will ensure that your visit remains as accessible and optimal as possible. During this entire period the castle will be open and can be admired in its normal state.
Stable square and Restaurant Laverie: closed from 27 October to 4 December
From October 27 to December 4, we will be working on the Stable Square:
- The paved paths;
- A restyling of Restaurant Laverie.
What does this mean for you as a visitor?
- The route from the entrance gate to the Entrance Building and Castle is different than usual.
- Restaurant Laverie is closed, you are welcome in our pop-up tent restaurant or Tuynhuis Gabrielle in the gardens for coffee, lunch or something tasty during your visit.
- Signposts make it easy to find the route to the castle & gardens.
Other maintenance 2026
From January to August 2026, we are performing maintenance on a number of other locations on the grounds. You will find more information about these maintenance activities on this page in due course.
We thank you for your understanding - together we will ensure that Kasteel de Haar is preserved in all its glory!
