June 28, 2024 was the day our wedding was planned. We got pregnant and decided to postpone our wedding for a year. This went without a hitch in consultation with our contacts at Kasteel de Haar. This is a mark of how service oriented they are. From the first contact to the day of the wedding, close contact was possible if needed. Organizing packed lunches, a toilet visit while taking pictures in the gardens, nothing was too much! In addition, we were positively surprised by the fact that we understood from visitors that when they entered, they were asked to be considerate of the bride and groom as they took photos. This was beyond expectations and resulted in even more beautiful photos.

The ceremony in the Roman Garden was beautiful. We felt like prince & princess. Our wedding was just like a fairy tale. Our guests then had the opportunity to do a castle tour as an activity. This was a win-win situation because our guests had fun and we were able to take pictures undisturbed.

Hospitality, love and an unforgettable experience went hand and hand at our wedding. Thanks again for everything & we hope to see you again on our visits to the castle!

On May 9th we got married at perhaps the most fairytale location in the Netherlands: Kasteel de Haar. And what a day to remember!

The sun was shining, the atmosphere was magical and everything was right down to the last detail. Our ceremony took place in the beautiful chapel on the estate - intimate, stylish and romantic. It really felt like we had landed in a fairy tale.

After the ceremony we enjoyed a celebratory outdoor toast surrounded by the beautiful gardens, the people we care about and the imposing castle in the background. It was a special moment that we will cherish forever.

The crew of Castle de Haar deserves a big compliment. What a professional, warm and hospitable people! They made our day not only possible, but truly unforgettable. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail: from the delicious food to the fantastic party where we danced the night away.

Choosing a castle for our wedding ceremony had always been a dream, and De Haar Castle brought that dream to life. From strolling through its picturesque grounds and exchanging vows in the sunlit Roman Garden, to welcoming our guests to explore the medieval museum and enjoy a delightful dinner in the enchanting park, every moment felt like a scene from a fairytale. It was as if the magic of the movies had come to life.

Last Friday (02-05-25) we had our fairytale wedding at Kasteel de Haar!

What a wonderful day this was. Everything was excellent and arranged down to the last detail; the staff was also extra helpful. We were even allowed to ride the carriage along the cour. The chapel was also very atmospheric and luckily there was enough room for Cindy's electric wheelchair and enormous dress. Finally, of course, the weather was also beautiful. We could not have had a more beautiful day. We are still enjoying the memories and photos.

We also received many compliments about the location and castle from our guests. Most of our guests have also been inside the castle and were very impressed. The snacks, lunch and dinner were also very well taken care of and very tasty. An extra compliment for the chef(s). They took excellent account of our dietary needs.

And if this was not enough. Today there was an envelope in the mailbox containing a personal card and 2 free tickets to the castle gardens! A very nice and sweet surprise. We will definitely make use of this.

So we want to thank the team of Castle de Haar once again very much for this amazing and fairytale day. Thank you so much for our special day. We will visit again soon.

We were married on August 23, 2024 and want to thank very much everyone who did anything for our wedding. We had a great time. It is a dream come true for us. Being able to say Yes to each other in the evening in such a beautiful place.

We had been planning to get married at Castle de Haar for some time. After visiting the venue with Xiaoke, we knew we had found our perfect location. The event team at Kasteel de Haar was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. Even when we had to choose between the outdoor space and the chapel, we were quickly helped. When it started to rain and we had to move the ceremony inside, they quickly moved everything to the chapel without any problems.

On 17-05-2024 we got married at Castle de Haar. We really wanted to get married under the 'Old Tree' with the beautiful castle in the background. The weather forecast was not so favorable, so it was very exciting whether this would work out. As agreed, our master of ceremonies was called on the morning of the wedding to discuss the location. Because it was still uncertain whether and at what time the rain would fall, it could not yet be decided whether the ceremony could take place outside. They kept an eye on the weather forecast and after several consultations with our master of ceremonies it was finally decided that we could get married outside under the 'Old Tree'. Fantastic news!

We look back on a wonderful day and are very grateful to the staff of Castle de Haar for their cooperation. Everything was arranged to perfection and exactly as we envisioned!

"Our dream was always to get married in a castle. After a small search I ended up at the beautiful Castle de Haar. Once you walk in through the gates you soon find yourself in a fairy tale paradise.

We had chosen the "Old Tree" as the location near the castle. This tree is in front of the entrance to the castle so it has a great view. Unfortunately the weather was not as planned and we were called nicely at 10:00 and advised to do it inside the Chapel after all (plan B). We opted for that and actually it made the day even more beautiful. It is really beautiful and very intimate. Just the way we wanted it.

Communication could be a little better but it certainly didn't ruin our day!

We got married on June 16, 2023, and it was the perfect summer wedding! We had our ceremony at the Rose Garden, and June was the perfect time to have it because the roses were all in bloom, and the sun was out, and we had a perfect view of the castle during the ceremony. We had guests who flew in from all over the world and they found the castle and the ceremony venue absolutely wonderful They kept telling us that the wedding and the castle was so beautiful for days after the ceremony was done. Also, the Castle de Haar Team was so professional with helping us set up for the wedding. They took care of details such as the chair set up and music, and even gave us useful suggestions to make sure everything ran smoothly.

On November 11, 2022 we got married at Kasteel de Haar. The religious ceremony was held in the beautiful chapel that just was fully renovated. The chapel itself looked stunning and really was the finishing touch on the ceremony. As you exit the chapel as newlyweds and see the majestic castle, the castle grounds, the gardens and the water, you really feel very special and blessed. The staff of the castle is very friendly and approachable. We were welcome to visit as many times as we wanted in preparation for the wedding - I think we came four times in total.

While we were busy with the photographers and the videographers our guest were touring the castle and got to know all about its history. We received so many compliments from our guests about this venue. We highly recommend considering Kasteel de Haar as (part) of your wedding day.

On Valentine's Day before our wedding and also shortly after our wedding day we received a small present from the castle. Very thoughtful and considerate! This sums up how nice this venue is.

How quickly time goes by!

Once upon a time...

In June 2022 we were married at Castle de Haar, we truly had an unforgettable day! This was partly due to the beautiful location and the hospitality of the staff. From the first moment we felt welcome and there was an explanation of the different possibilities. During our preparations we experienced the communication as pleasant in which they actively thought along with us. Due to the tropical temperatures we were given a fallback option just beforehand to sit under the oaks in the Roman garden, where during the ceremony a pair of storks flew around above the beautiful place. 'If you are going to get married, do it right' said the bride who had never in her life thought of getting married. Afterwards, we had comments for weeks about how wonderful the day was where everything was right. Thank you!

We were married in the Chapel, then toasted at the Coach House. We then took some fairy-tale pictures in the gardens, to end again at the Coach House with a BBQ. In short, from beginning to end taken care of to perfection.

On May 13, 2022, we were married in the Rose Garden of Castle de Haar!

In early 2021 we looked at several locations, but Castle de Haar really stood out! Especially because there is the possibility to get married outside in one of the beautiful gardens.

The contact with the staff was fine and we experienced it as very pleasant! Especially after we had some setbacks and had to make some adjustments. Very nice that the staff then thinks about a solution.

Weather permitting, we would say our Yes outside in the Rose Garden. Should this not succeed, due to rain, we could move to the Chapel.

The morning of our wedding, the master of ceremonies was called to coordinate whether or not we wanted to marry outside. Very happy that we finally chose to get married in the Rose Garden, what a beautiful place! We recommend this to everyone!

We had a great day Sept. 21. Sunny and at 1 of the most beautiful locations in the Netherlands. We also enjoyed it immensely. It provided a fairytale wedding with very beautiful images. Back in the day when I was a 6-year-old girl and saw the castle at St. Nicholas' club I wanted to get married there. September 23, 2021, 18 years later, we got married at your place!

It was the fairy tale I've always dreamed of, the preparations the thinking along and the final day! We enjoyed it together as a bride and groom and received unbelievable reactions to the location but also to the food. Furthermore, our guests were happy with how everything went with the rules around corona!

Feelingly, Kasteel de Haar is now also a bit 'our castle'

On 01-09-2021 we were married in the chapel of Castle de Haar. A year and a half ago we started preparing quietly. We visited (at Corona time) several locations. We got a private tour at Kasteel de Haar when the Netherlands was in lockdown. Very nice that this was made possible at the time. We immediately fell in love with the castle and the garden. Once we chose Kasteel de Haar we went back several times for preparations. This was never a problem and the staff at the box office were always up to date.

Our wedding day itself Timothy was present. During the photo shoot in the beautiful garden, he came by several times. He stayed in the background, but kept an eye on whether everything was going well. We asked a friend if he wanted to be our Babs-for-a-day and within the municipality of Utrecht, and therefore Castle de Haar, this is possible. This made the ceremony very personal

We held the reception and dinner at the Coach House. We really liked having everything in one location. The Koetshuis thought well of our wishes, and during the reception and dinner there was a very casual and relaxed atmosphere.

We look back on a great day! Feeling like Castle de Haar is now also a bit 'our castle'.

We fell in love with De Haar Castle, when we first visited it a few years ago and, when we decided to have a wedding, we instantly knew there couldn't have been a lovelier place for us to celebrate our union. Being able to get married in the castle gave an extra dimension to our wedding. It made the ceremony like a fairy tale

During the preparation, everyone was faced with Corona, which left the possibility of the wedding going ahead uncertain. Once it became clear that it could go ahead, Sandra and Timothy responded quickly and decisively. After booking it turned out that on our wedding day the Italy event was also taking place (rescheduled by Corona). This initially seemed like a setback for us, but Castle de Haar provided an excellent (perhaps better) alternative here by giving us the opportunity to get married in the Main Hall before the castle would open to the public.

Prior to the wedding we visited the location several times and each time we were warmly and openly received.During the last visit at the wedding location Timothy came up with very nice suggestions to make the ceremony extra special. On the day itself, everything was nicely taken care of and well organized. Timothy and Sandra were there for us and thought along to make the day perfect.

Our wedding was celebrated on 20-06-2020, just as the first measures around COVID-19 were slowly being lifted. Many things were against us, even Gemeente Utrecht did not want to send a wedding officiant to officiate our wedding. With the help of Kasteel de Haar we went into conclave against this decision and had to talk like mad to get one to come our way. We were allowed to have the wedding ceremony in the Roman Garden with a maximum of 30 guests. At the time, not what we totally envisioned, as we had to disappoint 85 day guests due to COVID-19. Yet somehow we missed these people less than they missed us, haha!

We had a wonderful day and always look back on it with pleasure, the service, accessibility and cooperation were very much appreciated in those bizarre times. Castle de Haar was able to make a dream come true for us, when it was really very difficult to do so in COVID-19 time, and yet they kept their word, namely giving us a "fairytale wedding" and for that we will always be grateful to them.

Who doesn't dream of getting married at a castle?

Kasteel de Haar is a beautiful location where our eyes were feasted. Forgetting everything and experiencing the day together with family and friends in a fairytale castle. It was a day never to forget.

What made it extra special was that we got to say yes to each other on March 15, 2020. This was the beginning of the corona era and the day the government finally decided to start a nationwide lockdown. On the days leading up to this day and on the day itself we had a lot of practical support and moral support from the staff, for which thanks again!

There was finally our big day!

The preparation and thinking along went so smoothly and spontaneously in cooperation with the castle, that we knew right away that we had made the right choice. The day itself went by so quickly, it seemed like a fairy tale. And now after the wedding, this day is still a fairy tale!!! We did it all our own way. We had a bbq and then went back to the castle with the photographers. The sun wasn't there in full strength, but because of that there were beautiful skies which really gave an even bigger fairy tale effect to our day (also thanks to our amazing photographers Siebe and Su)! Our most beautiful day

They sometimes say that a wedding can be one of the most beautiful days of your life.
For us, it really has been, and it started with the preparations and accompanying pre-wedding fun.

September 2017 we had an initial meeting with Sandra shortly after our engagement to discuss the possibilities for a wedding at Castle de Haar. We already knew it from the Winter Fair and did not have to think long about our dream location. Several possibilities were discussed and soon we had set a date; May 5, 2018.

From then on Sandra helped us with the initial preparations for a while, working with Het Koetshuis for the catering part. After a few months we were introduced to Kim who would be with us on our wedding day itself. She had great understanding and patience for our need for planning to perfection. Because yes, when we go for it we go for it right and we only want that once! She was very accessible, even to our stakeholders. She assisted us on the day itself to make it something unforgettable and we succeeded! How could it be otherwise at such a beautiful location!

This is a day that not only we, but also our loved ones, will remember with immense pleasure for a long time to come.

The castle, chapel, garden and weather completed our fairy tale

The choice to get married at Castle de Haar was quickly made for us, despite the travel distance. Been there many times in the past and always thought, should I ever get married, I'll marry here! When you walk there it's like a fairy tale, let alone when you get to get married there. We got married in the Chapel. An intimate wedding ceremony with an Armenian priest. Very special and especially for our non Armenian guests. After the ceremony we took pictures with our guests. The images are stunning, fortunately we had a beautiful wedding film and countless beautiful moments captured on film.

Beforehand we had close contact with Sandra, she made sure with great care and attention that our wishes were made possible. Timothy was our master of ceremonies on the day, with him a lot could be discussed.

Our best day ever

Back in October 2015, we had an appointment with Sandra to explore a wedding at the Castle. Ultimately the only venue we went to look at. This had to be our wedding venue! The contacts with Sandra and Kim went well. A few weeks before the wedding we went over the final details. We discussed things we hadn't thought of ourselves but fortunately they did. Kim showed beautiful examples of how the chairs could be placed under the tree which allowed us to make a good choice. Saturday, May 27, 2017 was finally here! From the moment we drove into the park to the old chestnut tree it was truly a fairy tale! Our day guests were waiting for us along the path by the tree and luckily there was shade as it turned out to be a tropically hot day. We were seated so that we could see the guests and the officiant as well as the castle. What a view! As a bride and groom, we completely missed the presence of Castle staff and that is a compliment. Everything was well organized. The cooperation with the Coach House was perfect, both in the preparation and on the day itself. Thank you so much for the great care on our best day ever!

The perfect day

Despite the bad weather forecast, we were very lucky at our wedding. We had the perfect weather as we had hoped. A beautiful ceremony outside in the romantic Rose Garden in the sunshine.

From the first meeting with Timothy and Sandra, we had a good feeling about this location.
The period beforehand with the conversations gave us the time and pleasure to live towards it. Besides the nice atmosphere of the location, Timothy and Sandra took all the worries out of our hands including the sound system and the extra connection for the piano. Everything went according to schedule. We received many positive comments from our guests about the beautiful Rose Garden, the great service and the delicious snacks at the Coach House. We are very happy that we made the decision to celebrate our day at Castle de Haar. Thank you for the good organization. Thanks to your dedication and hospitality we had an unforgettable day to remember. We look back with pleasure on our beautiful wedding day! We will definitely come back to your place to enjoy the beautiful view of the castle and look back at the beautiful memories.

Our dream came true!

Thank you so much Sandra, Timothy and other staff at Kasteel de Haar for making our unforgettable wedding day on August 26, 2016 possible! We actually knew right away that we wanted to do our big day at Castle de Haar. We didn't look at any other venues. We had cycled by here so many times and dreamed away at the idea. Our dream came true; our expectations were even exceeded. It started already in the morning with taking pictures in the Castle Garden in so many beautiful different places. It's nice that Castle de Haar offers exclusivity, so you really are the only bride and groom on the big day. For the ceremony we chose the intimacy of the library with beautiful acoustics for the piano playing. Then had a lovely drink with high tea at the Tuinhuys. The weather was beautiful. Everything was taken care of to perfection and went as we had pre-arranged. For the party we went to another location that better suited the atmosphere we had envisioned for it.

Good, professional and cordial

And then you are engaged and the choice was quickly made; we want to get married in a castle. Then you see Castle de Haar, beautiful photos, but yes the price.... At first we didn't dare go by, because Castle de Haar, that must be expensive. But the price was not too bad. You can always call or email for a price indication. We chose to do the ceremony, photo shoot, wedding cake and reception at Castle de Haar.

August 23, 2016 was our day. We got married in the Roman garden. The castle behind us and the guests we could all see. I really felt like a princess in a real castle. It really is a dream location and it looks like a fairy tale, it not only looks like it, it was. What a beautiful day we had at Castle de Haar.

The communication with Timothy and Sandra was good, professional and cordial. You get a quick response and they really think with you. They are very busy, but you really don't notice this from them. If you happen to run into them or have an appointment with them, they take all the time they need for you. You are really treated as a human being and not as a number. The communication was nice and warm. A week after the wedding we received a card from Castle de Haar with a nice booklet, very thoughtful. That was really the icing on the cake.

All in all, really experienced a top day, a fairy tale, our fairy tale. I would recommend it to everyone if you want to get married at a castle. Beautiful location and loving staff.

Friday, May 13, 2016, our day!

We were married this day in the library at the beautiful location "Castle de Haar".

On an open top wedding location route, we went to look at Castle de Haar. We were both sold immediately, how beautiful it is here!
The contact with Sandra and Timothy was super, nothing was too much or too crazy for them. The day itself we were enthusiastically received and Sandra and Timothy came to congratulate us personally.
All care was taken out of our hands.

We received fantastic help and guidance on this day, but also the time leading up to this day. You have helped make this day an unforgettable day for us. We also had only enthusiastic and positive reactions from our family and friends.

What a picture!

On May 12, 2016, we were married in the rose garden of Castle de Haar. We had a fantastic day at a beautiful location with super nice weather. It was truly a fairy tale! At the viewing, we were both immediately in love with this location. What a picture! The communication beforehand was pleasant and on the day itself, everything was also top-notch. We found it unfortunate that no wedding photos can be taken inside if you are getting married outside.

But there are plenty of great spots outside as well. A microphone and music can just be used outside. It was also no problem that we had a large number of guests. In short; marrying at Castle de Haar is highly recommended for a fairytale wedding!

A perfect day

'We were married under the big chestnut tree overlooking the beautiful castle. After looking at many venues, we immediately fell in love with this beautiful place. This turned out to have been a very good choice, with everything on the day going perfectly. From the preparation and decoration to the care surrounding the ceremony and the treatment, everything was well taken care of down to the last detail.

There was also active input on bringing creative ideas to fruition, as well as alternative scenarios should it rain. They also kept a close eye on whether everything went well and on time (including ensuring privacy in a public setting). Therefore, it was not a problem that we could take our bridal car onto the property and that the ceremony could be dressed to our wishes.

We found the communication with the Castle, and especially with our "wedding planner" Timothy, to be very good. All in all, the day could not have gone better. In fact, we experienced the day as surprisingly relaxed and festive and are very grateful to Castle de Haar for this.

A beautiful day

'We looked at the different wedding locations at Castle de Haar. All the locations are beautiful, but we immediately decided that we wanted to get married outside in the rose garden with the castle in the background. We got married in the summer and all the flowers were in beautiful bloom. It was a beautiful day. Thanks in part to the staff at Castle de Haar, we experienced the most beautiful day of our lives.

Everything was taken care of to perfection, our guests were welcomed, for all questions the master of ceremonies could contact Timothy and he made sure everything was in the setup as we had discussed in advance. We could fill it in and dress it the way we wanted. We had nice conversations with Timothy beforehand and we were very happy that he could also be present on the day itself. The guests were also very impressed with the wedding location, they are still talking about it. Thanks for all the good care.

Very professional

'At the beginning of July we got married under the big Chestnut tree at Castle de Haar. A beautiful outdoor location with the castle as a fantastic 'accessory' in the background. From the beginning we were helped very professionally and warmly by the castle staff. All the necessary facilities (catheter, chairs, sound system, signage etc) are arranged and prepared by them, we could decide where and how we wanted it to be. And should the weather be unexpectedly bad, alternative indoor venues are available.

Besides the beautiful location for the ceremony, the Castle Garden offers many different and romantic places for the photo shoot. We really liked that we could arrange all catering matters with the other organization on the grounds, Koetshuis de Haar. They may be two separate organizations, but the cooperation went well and therefore it is possible to celebrate your wedding from beginning to end at this beautiful place. Very relaxed. Really highly recommended!
