Restored Japanese sedan coach
Now temporarily on display in the Main Hall
From April 10 to May 4, the Japanese sedan coach can be admired in the Main Hall of Castle de Haar. After a careful restoration process, this unique object will be presented here again in its full glory for the first time.
The sedan coach is part of the rich and international art collection that the baron and baroness collected over the years. This sedan, a so-called norimono, served in Japan as a means of transport for courtiers and bears the coat of arms of the powerful Tokugawa family.
Thanks to its restoration, the sedan coach has regained its original splendor. Admire this iconic object up close now in the impressive setting of the Main Hall.
After May 4, the sedan coach will move to the Castle's Ballroom, where it will be on permanent display as part of the collection.
