Become a volunteer at Castle de Haar

Yes, I will become a volunteer

Do you give visitors a warm welcome?

HELP MEAN

Help from volunteers is invaluable for Kasteel de Haar. By now more than 200 volunteers are active. They are the calling card of the museum. The dedication and enthusiasm of volunteers ensure that visitors imagine themselves in another world for a day.

Usually we don't give tours, but tell people about the castle individually. This allows me to adapt my story to the person in front of me. With a visitor who is interested in building history I have a different conversation than with a little girl who dreams of becoming a princess. With yet another I have a conversation about what it would be like to spend a night in this castle.

When I return home, I have always told great stories and had great experiences

- Linda Donkers

There are several ways to volunteer to help at Castle de Haar. As a room guide, tell visitors a great story during their castle visit. MORE THAN JUST VOLUNTEERING

Castle de Haar believes that volunteering should not 'cost' you anything other than time.
Therefore, all volunteers receive a travel allowance of 21 cents per kilometer (as of January 1, 2023). That is not all.
In fact, many more fun activities are organized by (and for) the volunteers during the year.
All kinds of broadening and deepening activities are also offered.
